Hirose’s ST connector is an ultra low profile latched interface connector that has a receptacle profile of only 3.0mm of the PCB. The range includes plug receptacle & docking connectors. With durability guaranteed at 10000 cycles this connector is suitable for all manner of portable electronic equipment.
The connector is available in shielded and non-shielded versions & is suitable for use in GPRS applications.
Four polarization keys and a carefully designed plug ensure that contacts cannot be accidentally damaged even if the user does attempt to mis insert the plug. When mated continuous reliability of the connection is assured with a latch system that will withstand a pull force of up to 49N in any direction.
The contact pitch is 0.5mm, this gives an 18-position receptacle with dimensions of 3 x 6.9 x 15.5mm, the 10, 24, & 36 position connectors have similar compact dimensions. The connector is rated at 0.5Amps, with one version able to carry 3Amps using any one of 4 battery connections.
